Great Basin Energy is accepting offers on 500 acres of patented mining property in Thistle, Utah. An additional 150 acres of non-patented
agricultural or recreational property is available.
Originally, the mine produced the asphalt that paved many of the
streets in Salt Lake City and its environs. The property was last
mined for asphalt in 1914. When World War I began, the mine was closed
and the rails and related machinery were removed and used for the war
effort.
